Motivate & Inspire Student Scholars through RAP (Recognition – Appreciation – Praise)

The major RAP event will be held during the Fund’s 12th annual luncheon, Saturday, April 16, 2011, 12-3 PM at the Overbrook Presbyterian Church, 6376 City Line Avenue, Philadelphia, PA.  This annual luncheon serves a dual purpose: to raise funds and the RAP of its scholar students who achieve success despite incredible odds and obstacles they face in schools.

The Elvira B. Pierce Scholarship Fund

The Elvira B. Pierce Scholarship fund seeks to inspire and influence its student scholars with a compelling vision of belief in their future potential. During the annual RAP luncheon, student scholars are honored guests and given the opportunity to address the audience in an atmosphere of trust and dignity. Their picture and quotes are featured in the Fund’s newsletter. In its mentoring capacity the fund provides guidance for its students on a one-to-one basis. During the annual Holiday RAP, student scholars enjoy fun, food and each other in a festive home setting. Hope is restored as each student leaves feeling capable and more powerful.
